Last night we had a big event at the Rodgers' house.....preschool graduation. Evan was SO excited about the event and did a great job. They sang a few songs, did the chicken dance, had a slide show and got diplomas. When they received their diploma they had to tell the audience what they wanted to be when they grew up. Evan said he wants to be a cowboy! Not sure how or where this will happen, but that is his dream for now. In the picture he drew he was roping a calf with his friend Graham.
Seeing him with his friends is so fun. He has made two
good friends a daycare/preschool, Cade and Graham. It was great watching the slide show and seeing the 3 musketeers. The 3 boys will each be going to different schools next year, but I hope he can make nice friends at his new school like he did at daycare.
I also have a feeling that he may be a little spoiled by some of his teachers, Avery is too. I think that is going to be a big adjustment for him when he doesn't get to see them every day. We are very lucky because Evan and Avery both have great teachers at daycare and I can tell they are really taken care of. Maybe even a little spoiled : ) Which is fine with me!
Here is the poem the read last night......
Dear Parents,
We give you back your child, the same child you confidently entrusted to our care last fall. We give him back pounds heavier, inches taller, months wiser, more responsible, and more mature then he was then.
Although he would have attained his growth in spite of me, it has been my pleasure and privilege to watch his personality unfold day by day and marvel at this splendid miracle of development.
I give him back reluctantly, for having spent nine months together in the narrow confines of a crowded classroom, we have grown close, have become a part of each other, and we shall always retain a little of each other.
We have lived, loved, laughed, played, studied, learned, and enriched our lives together this year. I wish it could go on indefinitely, but give him back I must. Take care of him, for he is precious.
Remember that we shall always be interested in your child and his destiny, wherever he goes, whatever he does, whoever he becomes. His joys and sorrows we will always be happy to share.
